Single Mom battling Stage 4 Cancer needs help!

Hi we are fundraising for a friend and fellow animal advocate who desperately needs help. Tami Lindberg , age 44, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and has just learned the cancer has spread to her bones. Because of this, surgical treatment and any other treatment is up in the air right now.

This is a devastating diagnosis for this young mom who has very little family support. She has 2 kids, a son who is 14 and a daughter who is 5. Tami was going to college for Animal Health Technology and was just a semester and a half away from graduating when she found out about her diagnosis.

Tami has lived in Red Deer for the past 20 years but is originally from BC. She is a caring and devoted mother to her children. She is always putting the needs of others ahead of her own but now she really needs our help.

Tami is very passionate about animal welfare and animal rescue. She has rescued many animals, has organized one woman marches to spread awareness for animals causes, volunteers for local animal rescues, has a certificate in non-profit management and has helped with many wild animal charities with a particular interest in elephants. She will never turn her back on anyone or any creature in need.

As do most single moms, Tami struggles financially especially being a student. Having this diagnosis has added to her financial pressures because she will likely have to travel to Edmonton for further evaluation and she would like to try some holistic/alternative therapies which are costly. She is having trouble just putting food on the table for her kids right now and trying to make some positive nutritional changes to help her fight cancer. Christmas is also around the corner and I know she worries about being able to ensure her kids have a joyful holiday.
