Comfort for Kari

Hello to the KareBear Avenger Team!

My wife and your dear friend and loved one Kari Kron Schmitz, unexpectedly was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in June of 2023. We are fighting like hell to counter this evil cancer, but sadly it has rapidly evolved to a terminal diagnosis called Leptomeningeal Disease. It is a brutal cancer with a short life expectancy, even with advanced treatments.

Given the recent prognosis and Kari’s functional changes, we are creating a fundraiser to help aid in covering unexpected expenses for Kari’s comfort and care needs. The overall goal is to help cover advanced treatment as needed, in-home services, devices and various personal products needed to manage her rapidly advancing condition from this evil disease. Our hope is to ease the financial burden so she can enjoy time with family and friends at home.

All funds raised will go to provide the best care and support for Kari. Anything else will be put in a trust fund for her daughter Gwen.

Anything from prayers to donations, just sharing this post to help spread the word and take part in providing Kari with the love and support she deserves is so appreciated.
