Penitas Community Food Pantry

Hi, my name is Dennis Baumgarden and I am fundraising on behalf of Penitas Community Food Pantry located in Penitas, Texas. We serve approximately 1,300 to 1,400 people per month by distributing food to those in need. We operate solely on the generosity of supporters and time given by volunteers. There are NO paid staff. Every dollar given goes 100% to feeding people in need. Even the utilities are paid by our sponsor, Penitas Baptist Church.

Our previous building became so deteriorated it was unsafe and had to be torn down. We are in the process of rebuilding a 30 x 60 structure to house our storage and distribution of food to the hungry. We have been fundraising about two years and received a little over $60,000. This is not enough to complete the building. I am turning to gofundme to raise additional funds to complete the project. The quote on the foundation, excavation, rebar, and slab alone is $22,000. Wow, has concrete prices gone crazy or what.

The quote for a simple metal building is $45,000 delivered, erected and insulated. That is WITHOUT doors, windows, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, etc.

We estimate another $30,000 minimum is needed to complete the project. Please consider helping us fulfill our mission to help people in need.
