I am a fighter, everyday. Every cystic fibrosis Patient is a fighter. I have been fighting before I was even born. They took embryonic fluid from my placenta, to see if I had cystic fibrosis. They checked it before I was even born because, my stomach was exploded, and the doctor who was doing the tests only saw this one of their time...that was with a baby born with cystic fibrosis. Before I was even born my parents knew the life I would have and try to fight through. When I was born the doctors took me from my parents, laid me in an incubator and was going to let me die. I was almost too far gone, actually they said I was. My parents told them to do everything in their power to keep me alive. The doctors did the minimum, instead they brought my parents baby coffin books. They told them to pick one out, because my time was coming to an end. The next morning the doctors told my parents to take me home, and enjoy the little time they would have with me. My parents took me home, but soon had to take me to back to the hospital. Instead, they took me to a different hospital. Let's just say, I have fought, and fought for every single breathe I have today. I have under gone over 120 surgeries, multiple admissions, and things people wouldn't even think about that could happen. I was not allowed to pitty myself and feel bad for the disease I had. Instead, I was to suck it up and push forward with all the hope and faith I had. I lived a very active life. I was in gymnastics for almost ten years, all the way up to 16. I was becoming an elite gymnast. I did cheerleading, softball, track, tennis, soccer, almost every sport you could imagine. I believe that has paid off for my health in the long run. It has kept my body strong, and able to bounce back faster than most would. Through this process I developed seizures due to stress on my body, and cystic fibrosis related diabetes. On top of my cf, I have asthma, which can cause way more problems at times than my cf can. I have learned to live with all that I have because I am a fighter. When I got older around 19, my whole life came crashing down. Long story short, I lost everything. I lost my house, my family, my car, I even lost who I was. Due to all this, my lungs decreased significantly. More than it ever had in my past. If it wasn't for the loving family and people i am with now, I don't think I would be here. I had to be put on oxygen 24/7. I couldn't work, I couldn't work out, I could hardly even walk around the store. I was losing hope in myself. But I had a huge support system that kept reminding me, I am a fighter, invest so many odds already. This part of my life would only last a little bit. Now to the present part of my life. I am an activist for cystic fibrosis. I want to spread the word of this disease till everyone knows about it, and until we find a cure. A cure for every single strand of this disease, a disease that shouldn't even exist. I now am at 34% lung function. I have a service dog, who helps me monitor my oxygen and helps me emotionally. She comes everywhere with me. Her name is Rusalka. She loves going everywhere with me. I do the things I do because I want to show ALL cfers that we can workout and do cardio, in moderation. We can travel, and still be able to do our treatments. We can do everything else everyone can. Maybe a little different, but we can still do it! I am at a point in my life that I have to have a double lung transplant eventually. The procedure all in all costs about $100,000. I have to have money to stay near the city before and after, with a caretaker. The caretaker has to have a place to stay until and thyme minths after the procedure with me. Currently, government insurances don't pay a lot of the procedure and up keep to get new lungs. I am starting this gofundme to try and start my road, to a new and better life! I hope this inspired you, or helped you in anyway!
