About Lauren... that's me!

Hi :) I'm Lauren. I'm 38, a mother to 4 beautiful children, and new lover of everything workout related. Well, not everything, but certainly a LOT more than I used to be. You see, I used to be just under 300 lbs (well, on the day of my surgery, I was actually at 306... but I don't want to admit that...). I had married the love of my life, who was a stick. A skinny twig of a man that could eat 5 burgers and lose 5 lbs. It was unfair. And I'm not entirely sure what caused me to gain almost 100 lbs in the first 5 years of our marriage, but some may call it "love weight". I certainly didn't love it though. And once he joined the military (Go Army!), I finally had the insurance that could help me start my weight loss journey by getting gastric bypass in 2009.

Over the next few years, I lost over 100 lbs, getting to my lowest weight of 172 lbs. I then got pregnant with our first baby, and for some reason, we decided that popping another one out every 2 years was what we would do... so I did! In 2018, I gave birth to our 4th and final baby (I was done! I couldn't do it again, I need a nap sometime in the near future...). And with that baby, came an extra 10 lbs per child. I gained back a little over 40 lbs by the time I had baby Roz, and now, 2 years later, I want to lose the weight again. Only this time, I want it to stay off, and keep myself healthy for as long as I live.

I am currently working at a gym, and go daily to workout (at least 3-5x a week), I am eating healthy foods and don't indulge like I used to, and I'm trying REALLY hard to get these pounds down, but my body won't budge. So what I'm thinking is that my body is content where it is. But I have excess skin left over from losing my initial 100+ lbs. It sags, it's squishy almost like that slime my kids love playing with, and makes me look like I have a "front butt" when I tuck it into my pants.

So this is where you come in! I got the numbers from a surgeon that's local to me that has been recommended to me by multiple people. I want to get this excess skin on my stomach, and inner thighs removed. And in order to do that, insurance won't cover it because it’s considered cosmetic, and I certainly won't ever have the funds in one lump sum to pay for it.

I'd love the support and help you might be able to give. I want this to be an all or nothing type of deal, get it all done in one shot. The number I've given for my goal will cover everything including the Dr.'s fee, the Facility fee, and Anesthesia; and also includes a little for incidentals.

THANK YOU for considering me and my goal. And THANK YOU for all your support!

I hope this succeeds, and I can finally be comfortable in my body.
