Cole Carlson Medical Expenses
Donation protected
This fundraiser was started to help out a fantastic family who has been devastated by a recent cancer diagnosis for their youngest son, Cole. Cole had just turned 17 in August 2022 when he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. This type of cancer is rare, but it is most common in boys aged 10 to 20. In Cole’s case, it is a soft tissue tumor that has wrapped around his spine and is inoperable.
Cole’s treatments, consisting of 40 weeks of chemotherapy followed by radiation, are currently taking place at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. Cole’s mom had to be laid off from her job in order to accommodate this treatment schedule. After 12 weeks of induction chemotherapy, Cole and his mom will then need to relocate to Rochester, MN. Here he will receive specialized radiation that has been shown to be effective in targeting Ewing sarcoma.
This amazing family will need to live apart for 4-6 weeks during the Christmas season in December. As if radiation was not hard enough, Cole will continue receiving chemo during this time as well. He has already completed a few of his induction chemotherapy treatments and is overall tolerating them well.
In order to help alleviate some of the stress of medical expenses, gas for traveling to Minneapolis weekly, and the overall overwhelming feeling of this experience, we would like to raise some money to send to the Carlson family! We would appreciate any donations for this deserving family!
