Help Nicole with Medical and Living Expenses

Hi Everyone-

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I am raising funds for my friend Nicole during a time of immense hardship.

Everyone has a story, but Nicole's is one of exceptional strength, character and endurance to me.

Nicole has raised her two sons, Kyler, age 23 and Braxton, age 24, into adulthood and raises her daughter Scarlett, Age 9, full-time. Nicole is the founder, owner, and operator of Clothz Minded in the heart of Westport, Kansas City, MO, an upscale resale boutique created by her love of both fashion and sustainability. She opened Clothz Minded in 2010.

Nicole is the kind of Mom who sews costumes late at night for the school Halloween party, creates Frida Kahlo-inspired photoshoots with her daughter, makes sure there are plenty of opportunities for creativity, learning, and playtime and before her chemo plan started she had a "Yes Day”  where the whole idea is to say yes to everything little Scarlett can think of! Nicole does all of this while running her own business.

Nicole has advocated for her community in many ways. Those ways include befriending and uplifting those in the homeless community, sitting as a guest on a discussion panel for Show Me Strong Recovery task force as a representative for Hispanic Small Businesses, her business is also a sustainable eco friendly business,  she has mentored countless interns in business and fashion through the years and now because of her experience of fighting breast cancer as a single mom she now in the works of starting a non-profit to help other single Moms with Breast Cancer.

Her heart is attuned to the needs of others, and it is time to support her as she would anyone else.

On September 30th, 2021 Nicole was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer. It is categorized as Triple Negative and HER 2 positive, a very aggressive and difficult form of Breast Cancer. Halfway through treatment, she was told that the three tumors were measuring the same, which altered and lengthened her chemotherapy plan. Because of the intensity of this treatment, Nicole has been hospitalized  three times, with her last stay resulting in a blood transfusion. Unfortunately after the effects  covid and her diagnosis has had on the shop it’s caused the store to shut down for days at a time. Not to mention, Nicole is experiencing extreme repercussions after therapy treatments and, some days, can barely find the energy to walk from the bed to the couch. Beyond that, it is very dangerous for Nicole to run the shop in person because the treatment has wiped out almost any form of protection from viruses and bacteria by greatly reducing the neutrophils in her white blood cell count. As you can imagine, this is financially devastating for a single-parent household and small business owner.

After this current treatment plan, there will be several surgeries and radiation sessions as well. At this time, it is certain that there will be more days to come with the shop having to be shut down.

If you have any amount to give- it would contribute so much to the quality of life for Nicole and little Scarlett.

Love to you all-

Ashley
