Bring it to life!

The performing arts provide a plethora of opportunities for youth to express themselves and develop life skills that extend beyond the classroom or stage. Team building, problem solving, responsibility and self confidence are only a few of the benefits students gain from participating in the performing arts.
After our school district cut funding for the arts, our students have felt a void in their creative voice. Performing expands the capabilities of our students. Theater allows students to develop their own voice while exploring character development and story structure. Acting brings the story to life. It allows students to experience a plethora of texts and builds their fluency!
The effects of theater on students living in poverty can be life changing. Studies show that students involved in theater see an increase in their reading and math scores, and in their attendance.
It has been 5 years since our school had any type of funding to provide our students with an opportunity to be involved with the performing arts.
This year, our students would love to bring to life the story of Peter Pan. Raising this money will allow us to purchase the license that is required to perform this production. We will be able to purchase costumes chosen by the students that will bring their characters to life. Students will be able to get the materials necessary to create scenes that they've only envisioned in their imaginations and bring them to the stage.
Please consider donating to make this amazing opportunity a reality for our students!
