Leslie’s Home Healing
Donation protected
I am a family friend to Leslie, McKenzie, and Olivia Kasper. I am creating this with a very heavy heart but know the girls will need every little bit of help possible to give their devoted mother the care she deserves in home.
Leslie Kasper was diagnosed in April 2023 with cervical cancer. In true Leslie fashion she fought her fight quietly and continued to make life about others and not show she was fighting something much larger inside. The end of May her pain and symptoms got significantly worse and she could no longer take the pain. She was taken to the ER in Ocala to then be transferred to Shand’s hospital in Gainesville, FL. After a couple weeks in their care and many test they formally diagnosed her with carsinosarcoma versus spindle squamous cell carcinoma of the cervical region that has metastasized to the liver, bone, and lungs along with many secondary ailments.
Leslie and her girls were hoping for a surgery option to help slow the spread and control some pain. After being declined that option from Shands they sought out another specialist. This was their third and final hope for surgery and again they were declined and told it wouldn’t make a difference. They suggested the girls take their mom home on hospice care. Leslie is unable to walk or do basic care for herself due to the cancer and secondary medical issues. Leslie has been discharged from the hospital and placed in a rehab facility temporarily while her daughter have to figure out a hospice care situation. They are currently open to any input on hospice care/ nurse care in Ocala Florida.
Those that don’t know them on a personal level these are 3 of the strongest women you will ever meet. They are humble, kind, and hard working. Mckenzie and Olivia’s beloved father passed away very quickly and unexpected due to a very aggressive throat cancer just 5 years ago. Leslie was the back bone for her girls and they not only survived but thrived starting a company. Now they are too humble to ask for help but I know every little bit would be life changing in helping relieve some of the medical payment stress. With no insurance to cover the expense of home hospice the girls need all the help they can to cover the cost to let Leslie come home on hospice to the comfort of her home. They are getting crazy expensive quotes and we are currently looking for private nurses as well as hospice nurses.
Please know allowing me to make this gofundme a was very hard decision for this family that has always been very private and hard working. I am doing this with the families permission and all donations will go directly to an account in Olivia and Mackenzie’s name. If people would like to donate directly to them or reach out with any nurse ideas I will attach an email address. Also please keep these 3 amazing women in your prayers through this very difficult time. Thank you in advance.
