The McCoy Family
Donation protected

We are the McCoy Family; Eric, Margo, Isabel (7) and Preston (4). We moved from Portland, OR to Kansas City in 2014. That in itself was a God thing and a huge step of faith. It has been an amazing time living in the Midwest and meeting the tremendous people we have met.
On Tuesday, November 7th, 2018 our lives changed forever. Our son, Preston, had a tumor found on the left side of his head near his eye. Devastation rocked our world. It was determined to be Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH). This is a rare cancer that begins in LCH cells. About 1 in 200,000 children are diagnosed with LCH. As of now it is only located in the left side of the head and seventh vertebrae in his back. The prognosis is good, but we won’t really know until the first round of treatment is complete – this will take six weeks. The entire treatment will last twelve months. You can follow more of Preston’s story on CaringBridge:

Preston is a strong 4 year-old boy, which we see every day as he endures this. God continues to give us immense grace, through the peace we have experienced every step of the way. We are so thankful for everyone that supports us through prayer, meals, care packages and so many other random acts of kindness. The love we feel from so many for our family and Preston has been incredible. There is never a good time to learn one of your children has an illness like cancer. For us, this is coming at one of the least opportune times possible in regards to finances. Asking for help is never easy, especially financial. We both are self-employed. Our businesses require us to be present to make income. After having family and friends suggest and encourage a GoFundMe campaign many times, we prayed about it and felt we should pursue this through friends who had offered to set it up for us. We are so thankful for all the prayers and all who have come alongside of us to help and support us in so many ways. We ask that you pray about this and do only what you feel led to do.
Goal $25,000
Expense List:
Loss of income due to time away from work
Medical- bills are still being processed
Healthy environment for Preston (i.e. our basement being available for him to run around when we can’t go anywhere)
Increased costs for necessary expenses
God has blessed us with such an army of prayer warriors and our family will forever be grateful for each of you praying over us so faithfully.
