Reunite a Father and Son
Donation protected
Hi friends, family, and friends I’m yet to meet. Thank you for taking a moment to read my story.
I need help to cover the legal costs I face in my fight to ensure my son and I are together. There are two aspects to this situation - a final hearing in the Magistrate’s Court to overturn two unjust FVROs that a result of lies and litigation in the Family Court of Western Australia to seek shared custody of my son.
My life took on a whole new meaning when my son was born in 2020. I finally know what it means to experience unconditional love for another human. My little man, Owen, is my world.
Unfortunately, his mother and I fell out of love. Though I vowed to stand by her side as we raised Owen, it was not enough.
I now face battles on many fronts. I have employed the services of two law firms - one to fight the Family Violence Restraining Orders that have been established as Interim Orders and the other to represent me in the Family Court of Western Australia.
These legal teams do not come cheap. But at stake is the time Owen and I have to share. I’m no young father. I was 41 when Owen was born and since that day I relish every second we have together.
Since July 2022 I can count the times Owen and I have been together on my two hands. He spent two months in his mother’s home country meeting his extended family, including being there for his 2nd birthday, while I remained in Australia with our family pet. When Owen and his mother returned, my nightmare truly began - his mother lied in her application for a FVRO and attempted to get me arrested at his daycare. When that didn’t work she went and lied in another application for a FVRO, this time on behalf of my son.
I now face the prospect of being arrested if I were to see my son in public and he approached me for a cuddle. Not only is this immoral, it is also detrimental to his emotional and social development and wellbeing.
I am up against a system that places countless hurdles in front of single fathers fighting to be heard and achieve justice. Like many before, and sadly like many who will follow, I am struggling to have a meaningful role in my son’s life.
With your help I can fight the FVROs in the criminal court system and take my fight for shared custody to the Family Court. I have been quoted $90000 to proceed to Family Court and roughly $10000 to tackle the FVROs.
This is where I need help. All donations, large or small, will assist in reuniting Owen and myself. Equally important, please share my story. I cannot do this alone. Thank you for reading. If you are able to help in any way at all, I am eternally grateful.
