Kidney donation

Hi my name is Kim and I'm trying to raise some funds to help cover the cost of me donating a kidney to a dear friend of mine from 40 years ago. I live in Georgia and he lives in New York City which is where the surgery will take place. I never knew that when I saw his Facebook post that he needed a kidney and that me saying I'll be glad to give you one of mine Gary that it would have taken me on this journey so far. I've been through a year and a half of testing and had to fly to New York to meet with all the doctors and we finally have a surgery day which is August 24th. My daughter will be traveling with me as I have to have a caregiver with me after surgery and I have to stay up there for up to 2 weeks till they give me the okay to fly back home. It's getting real right now and the cost is becoming overwhelming. We have three dogs which have to be boarded which I hate to do but I have no choice. My daughter will miss work but thank God her bosses are given her the time off to go with me. She's a waitress so she has no paid vacation time. We have to get our airline tickets and make arrangements for a hotel and I can't believe how expensive things are up there not to mention food and hopefully we'll get to go sightseeing while we're in New York. I know times are bad for everybody but every little bit will help us on this journey! I promise to keep everyone updated and I want to thank everyone in advance.
