Help With The Passing of a Street Musician
Donation protected
Hi I'm Jason, son of Larry:
Larry Dallas Poling has spent over 60 years making music in the streets—bringing joy, grit, and soul to every sidewalk he stood on. A lifelong street musician, Larry lived life on his own terms, led by rhythm and restlessness.
At 72 years old, Larry has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given less than a month to live.
This moment—painful and uncertain—has also brought something unexpectedly beautiful into our lives.
Larry was father to many, often moving on before we were born. But over time, we found each other: Tamara, Kate, Marcy, Romina, Sam, Ruby, Sina, Naomi, and me—Jason. Each of us carrying a piece of the story, now coming together to share the rest.
For me, that’s the most special part of all this: finding family in the middle of grief. Finding connection where there used to be questions.
We’re raising funds to help Larry in his final days and to give him a farewell filled with dignity, music, and love. But we’re also doing this for us—for the family that grew from the gaps he left behind, and for the story that somehow brought us home to each other.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Every bit of support helps.
