4 Apartment Fire Victims Need Your Help

Hello,

My name is Kimmy, myself, along with three neighbors have suffered the unthinkable and have been displaced by a house fire.

Our apartment building caught fire Tuesday afternoon and our lives have been completely turned upside down since.

After the fire we have all been in total utter shock. Especially being that each of us have been in our homes 7-9 years. Although we are all trying to maintain some normalcy it has proven to be impossible.

With only one of us having insurance and that showing to be hard to navigate, it’s become apparent that outside help is needed.

I am creating this fundraiser in hopes of gaining support from the community to try and help us regroup after suffering such a tragic loss.

Currently, my elderly neighbor Mary Lou is still staying in her unit as she has no family or friends to take her in and we have yet to find an agency that can find her appropriate accommodations for her and her cats. She is in the dwelling without electricity and is making due with lanterns and extra blankets until some sort of arrangements can be made.

The rest of us have been able to find temporary placement for the time being sleeping on couches with family and friends. However with the trajectory for repairs being estimated at 6 months or more, better suited living arrangements will be needed.

The funds from this fundraiser will be evenly distributed amongst the four of us for costs incurred as a result of the fire. Such as, relocation fees, temporary housing, food, replacement of damaged property, etc.

This is the last thing we expected to deal with during the first month of the year but we know with the community’s help we will be able to bare this tragic event.
