4 Boydy – Road to recovery
Spende geschützt
On Thursday the 22nd of October, our friend Cheyne Boyd had a near death accident which has left him hospitalised. He broke 17 ribs, ruptured the artery near his heart, fractured his C4 and C5, his pelvis and hip. He dislocated his lumbar spine, collapsed his lungs and fractured his thoracic. As his blood pressure dropped the doctors administered 21 bags of blood to stabilise him. Upon arrival to the hospital emergency invasive open-heart surgery took place to stop the internal bleeding. For the next 5 days Cheyne laid lifeless in an induced coma.
The accident will require Cheyne to remain in Hospital for several weeks, possibly up to 8 and the road to recovery will be long and arduous, to make things worse his business, Park4 MX has been plagued by the coronavirus restrictions in Melbourne, Victoria.
Cheyne and his wife have three loving young children and have patiently been waiting for restrictions to be lifted. Unfortunately, Cheyne will not be able to work or operate machines for months and is already under enormous duress because of his business being uncontrollably closed.
Cheyne has always been generous in supporting other fallen riders and charities and now his friends and I have come together to ask you to support him and his family. All and any donations will help no matter how small or large.
We believe Motocross is one big family and we come together to help each other. The steps ahead for Cheyne can be made lighter with our support.
