4 Wheel Drive Conversion

Hello, My name is Jacob Biddle and and I run the Eagles Overlanding youtube channel where I have told stories about my life and my adventures to nearly 3,000 subscribers. If you're not familiar with overlanding, let me simplify my definition of it for you...it's camping with offroad travel to remote destinations. Well, to get to these destinations, it has taken a toll on my truck that happens to be 2wd. I have been traveling with buddies that have the ability to use 4wd when on the trails and as a result I am constantly going through parts on my rig to stay on the trails with my friends. With this being said, it has become a financial burden to keep my truck going for what I want it to do, and after extensive research and asking questions I can easily do a 4wd conversion that can be done in my driveway for under $3000. Why put 4wd in my truck? When offroading in a 2wd you are having to hit obstacles harder, and that leads to broken spindles, worn tires, bent upper control arms, and failing ball joints. With the help of 4wd, i'll be getting the extra rotation needed in the front to not have to hit obstacles harder, which means less broken parts, and less winch time. Why not sell it and buy a new truck? My truck has sentimental value. My grandpa poured his blood, sweat, and tears into doing the motor swap (v6 to v8) in my truck, I'm keeping it as something I can hold onto that my grandpa did for me if that makes sense. I have spent countless hours building it up to what it is today. I'm asking for your help as I know I have a lot of support in the overland community and I want to be-able to continue posting my stories and having the peace of mind and comfort to be able to do out of state traveling.
