4 x 4 x 48 for Folds
Tax deductible
Want to contribute to an amazing nonprofit and watch me suffer through an extremely challenging 48 hour race?!?!
The nonprofit is Folds of Honor; It provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled service-members. https://www.foldsofhonor.org/
The goal is to raise enough money for 1 scholarship; $5,000.
The race: 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours (David Goggins' idea https://www.gogginschallenge.com/ )
When: 10 PM CST, March 5, 2021
I will be documenting the whole thing on @itaktheday instagram page with live videos so you all can get your moneys worth. https://www.instagram.com/itaktheday/
Some background info on why I chose this race. I started running this past fall and fell in love with the clarity it provided. The most I have ever run at one time is 10 miles (November 2020 and caught covid 2 days later) and the most I have run in a week is 26 miles (January 2021). David Goggins is a very persuasive individual and I felt I needed to try this race after watching his video about the 4x4x48. So needless to say, this should be interesting.
Why Folds of Honor? Besides the fact that FOH is an amazing organization with an unbelievable mission, I have been involved in the Chicago chapter since 2013. Giving back to the men and women that serve this great country is a passion of mine.
Now on to me suffering for a great cause!
