rescue of 4,000 beagles from breeding facility

I'm a long-distance runner and a pawrent. By running 26.20 miles, I'm raising money to benefit The Humane Society of the United States. Any donation will help rescue 4,000 beagles from an inhumane breeding facility. They are looking for homes after animal rescue organizations started removing them from a Virginia facility that bred them to be sold to laboratories for drug experiments.

Long-distance running gives me freedom and a sense of accomplishment. Participation in the Santa Rosa Marathon this year means more to me - it's a celebration of my recovery from 23 years of anorexia and the progress I made in my mental health. My golden retriever Turbo has been an important part of this journey. I trained hard and was determined to achieve my PR. But my training was sidelined by injuries and a recent COVID infection.

I thought about giving up this race until I saw this news. These dogs in need give me motivation and a new purpose. But I cannot make this happen without your help and loving heart. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. (Woof, Woof, Woof)
