Hope For Our Children

My name is Greg Aery and I'm the lead pastor of The Link Church in Tulsa, OK. We are a small congregation with a large vision for the children of our community. For the last two years we have been operating an after school program for latch key and underpriviledged children within our community. Last school year we had a total of 55 children with approximately 25 on our waiting list to get into our program. We offer this after school program FREE OF CHARGE to those within our community, taking the financial responsibility on ourselves to provide snacks, crafts and staff for them every day. For those who have home work, we have a homework station and if they need a tutor, our staff take the time to do so. Our first year we were shocked that some of our 3rd 4th and 5th graders couldnt read but For those who have returned to us in our second year, they have reported a more productive scholastic experience as a result of our efforts and their hard work. Last year we experienced a catostrophic cascade failure with our air conditioning units. We have received 3 bids, the least of these is 46,000.00. We have had chilli cook offs and fundraisers but we are no where close to raising the funds needed to replace these units and school begins again in August.
