42.2km A Week To Treat Our Healthcare Heroes

The Moloney/Meehan families want to give Back to the healthcare workers in UHL and St Itas. As a lot of ye may know already our family was hit by covid. In April 2020 our Dad Mike Moloney was admitted into UHL testing positive for covid 19. He spent a total of 21 weeks in hospital 4 weeks 6 days on a ventilator in ICU in UHL and the last 8 weeks of his recovery in St Itas Rehab. He had so many complications on his covid journey from pneumonia, sepsis to organ failure. They never gave up on him and fought so hard to get him back home to our Mam Kay. We really want to give back as a way of thanks for all they did for our Dad and family as well as all they have being doing for everyone during covid 2020/2021.

We want to raise as much money as possible to treat as many healthcare workers as we can to a bit of R&R...whether it be a spa day, afternoon tea or a round of golf. The time has come that the clap hands and lighting a candle just doesn’t cut it anymore!!!

For 21 weeks starting Feb 1st and ending the week of June 21st, Mike’s children Sinead and Fiona are running the distance of a marathon a week. Chris has an injury at the moment so will be walking the distance till his back up and running.  We ended up setting up a what’s app group where there is a total of 32 participants walking and running. From family members, friends and neighbours. 

 We would be really grateful if as many people as possible would share our fundraiser to family members, friends and on yer’e social media platforms. We really want this to be a massive success and show the healthcare workers how appreciated they really are.

Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel and Spa is supporting our fundraiser with regard to spa days for the healthcare workers.
Dromoland Castle is supporting our fundraiser with regard to 4 Ball Golf outings.
*** 100% of donations is going to the healthcare workers.
