Injured Firefighter, Mike Terrell

Donation protected
Mike Terrell, an Omaha Firefighter of 18 years, was injured on 01/26/2016 at the Heafey, Hoffman, Dworak and Cutler fire.  Mike entered the burning structure in an attempt to escort an employee from building. While inside, an explosion occurred causing Mike to be thrown to the ground with building debris landing on him.

Mike was rushed to the hospital and released several hours later.   At that time, his injuries consisted of head (concussion), neck, back and shoulder pain.

Mike returned to the hospital 2 days later after experiencing severe pain and PTSD symptoms.  Mike has learned that he has a crushed nerve in his neck between C5 and C6 and has not been cleared to return to work. Mike's goal is to get back to work quickly but his physical injuries alone will prevent that for some time.

Since this is a work related injury, medical costs are covered but there are numerous out of pocket costs associated with his long term recovery. Mike's wife Becky and children Ben and Anna have been taking time off from work and school to assist mike with some everday activities.

Any assistance you can provide the family is greatly appreciated.
