4,4,48 run for Emily's Star
Hi, I'm Daniel from Lets Kick It, a local football coaching provider for children aged 3+ in Milton Keynes. I wanted to push myself physically to the maximum of my capabilities and in the process, I'm raising money in aid of Emily's Star, a well known and loved charity based in Milton Keynes.
The 4/4/48 run itself is not only physically challenging (nearly 2 marathons in 2 days), it pushes those who do it to the edge, mentally... which sounds pretty fun!
4 miles, every 4 hours in 48 hours. This will be completed 25 & 26th March where I will be sharing my live journey on our Lets Kick It Facebook Page.
Less about that and more about the wonderful cause this is for.. Emily's Star!
Emily's Star has 3 main aims:
Emily's Star raise awareness of Trisomy 18 through social media, leaflets & fundraising events
They provide MKUH & 20 other UK Neonatal units Emily's Gift Neonatal Boxes designed for premature & underweight babies.
They provide memory making activities & regular monthly stay & play sessions for their registered families who fall under the care of the Children With Complex Needs Nursing Team in Milton Keynes, all their registered children have different life limiting & life threatening illnesses.
You can find out more about Emily’s Star at http://www.emilysstar.co.uk/our-story.html
I'm hoping to raise as much as I can for such a brilliant charity and hope what ever I can raise can make a small difference.
