We are raising money for Maliah's Family to help with Medical expenses and helping our family stay a float during these difficult times. 4 a.m. Monday morning Aug 26, 2013. She was admitted to Randall children's hospital for showing signs of possible stomach pain. She was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst was found at 37wk ultrasound. So our first thoughts were maybe something wrong with the cyst. We rushed her to the ER at Legacy Emanuel, x-rays and ultrasound found fluid around the left ovary. She continued to be in pain and we noticed her belly starting to swell. Surgeons were quick to suggest getting inside to get a better perspective of the situation, thinking the cyst has ruptured. Once inside surgeons found the intestines had twisted without any signs (green throw up or no pooping). It cut off blood supply to the intestines, surgeons had to remove quite a bit of intestine. Leaving 28cm small intestine. She now has what is known as Short Bowel Syndrome aka Short Gut Syndrome. Lots of change ahead, she will need to be on Nutrition tube called a G tube and be on 24hr care. She is fighting the fight and doing well. Thanks and we Love you all!
