45132 Main Generator Appeal.

Donation protected
The Main Traction Generator from this historic locomotive, is away for repair, by a specialist company. The loco support group, known as Team 45, are launching an urgent funding appeal, to contribute towards the cost of this repair. Their ambition is to see this iconic, ex-British Railways class 45 locomotive, running on the Epping Ongar Railway again in 2023. Everything else on the locomotive has been tested and is in operational order. So the only thing stopping the locomotive from hauling trains again is the generator repair. This specialist repair is something that the volunteers of Team 45 are unable to do themselves. They do, however, have the necessary skills required to re-install the generator when it returns from the repair company.

Please consider donating to the Main Generator Fund, so we can see 45132 hauling trains through North Weald station again.

The story of 45132 in preservation, started at the Mid-Hants Railway.
Restoration work was underway at Ropley in July 1993.
45132 hauled its first train in preservation, on 5th March 1994.
