My mom was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer and the mass was removed in July. She is now undergoing treatments to remove the cancer and it is very costly.
There is a new treatment option that was just approved by the FDA three weeks ago called Optune Device(**see below for information on the Optune device).
She is on a fixed income and the deductible and out of pocket expenses are more than she can afford.
She has worked so hard her entire life and we just want to help her because this is the best treatment for her and will give her the best chance for survivial.
We do not know what will happen after this and if other treatments will be needed. Please help if you can to give her some relief of at least the financial concerns.

**The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved an expanded indication for the Optune device to treat patients with newly-diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer. It is given along with the chemotherapy drug temozolomide (TMZ) following standard treatments that include surgery, and radiation therapy and chemotherapy used together.
When using Optune, a health care professional places electrodes on the surface of the patient’s scalp to deliver low-intensity, alternating electrical fields called “tumor treatment fields” (TTFields). The unique shape and special characteristics of rapidly dividing tumor cells make them susceptible to damage when exposed to TTFields, which could halt tumor growth.
The device is portable and can be powered with batteries or plugged into an electrical outlet. Patients can use the device at home or work, allowing them to continue their normal daily activities. B
