my dog Charlee a terrier mixed was attacked by a pitbull on June 19 around 8 am. The pitbull was leashed on the owner bike as they were riding passed us. It was a split second when the pitbull somehow broke off the leash and charged at my dog. The pitbull teeth got a hold of my dog back and with some helpful people helped the pit bull finally let's go. I called animal control n they say they will send a officer to the scene but when I returned 2 hours later to talk to the witness, she say the officer never showed up and she wasn't able to get the pit bull owner information. My vet bill is currently 1k+ it could be more....pending at the moment. My dog ended up having surgery, 4 deep puncture wounds. I hope the pit bull owner stepped up and take responsibility. Color of the pitbull is an all red/brown solid color. looks to be around 50lbs. I want to thanks the people that helped.
