Hey friends,
it is Taylor again once again feeling the weight of the healthcare system.
as many of you know: dad had a massive stroke. I’ve been fighting with insurance and the health care system since he got out of acute rehab.
as many of you know: dad had a massive stroke. I’ve been fighting with insurance and the health care system since he got out of acute rehab.
My dad’s insurance quit paying for his health care & until I can get him into a facility that his insurance pays for while I work my butt off to get him out of the nursing home— I am forced to pay out of pocket. I’ve been selling things left and right, working my second job, and selling his home.
Taking him out of his nursing home right now is not safe as I do not have the appropriate equipment for him. I’m doing the best I can and will continue to fight for him. I have appealed with insurance && am waiting on a response.
I feel helpless. I feel discouraged. Every single moment there’s been a new battle. Life isn’t meant to be lived like this && I will continue to do whatever it is needed to help my dad.
I owe just for the room 8,058 dollars. I was able to pay close to 1000. This does not include the toiletries, level of care that they deem him, or his therapy.
currently they haven’t found a facility so I will be paying June and July which at minimum is 18,000 dollars — not including the extras.
I am thankful for anything anyone can donate. I will not stop working two jobs. I will not stop advocating for him. I am sorry I’m asking for help again. I want to be able to do this on my own but right now I cannot.
