Cocktail Mary is a dream come true. In my family we welcomed everyone to the dinner table at any time. I always knew I wanted to open a space that had the same kind of unconditional welcome. It has brought me so much joy to work with the amazing team we’ve been fortunate enough to build, focused on crafting delicious beverages and food to serve the public. Cocktail Mary has always been about building this type of community

Needless to say this has been particularly challenging during a global pandemic. In many ways, we all know now more than ever that we NEED these types of places to gather and be with the people we know and love AND to find new people to know and love.

Throughout the pandemic, It has been my number one priority to keep our community safe, which has meant keeping our indoor space closed, investing in outdoor seating and all sorts of other new infrastructure and innovation in order to share what we do. This summer, the weather and the tenacity of Covid have taken a much bigger toll than we could have expected and as a result we're heading into fall on financial fumes. This current wave has yet again delayed our ability to open up inside and threatens our ability to stay afloat as the days get shorter and the weather cooler.

I am so proud of what the Cocktail Mary team has been able to accomplish these past two years. We’ve partnered with all sorts of local businesses and creators in a number of different ways. We’ve come up with innovative approaches to get our product to the community and been part of the resiliency Portland's economy has shown. Most importantly to me, we have been able to participate in fundraising for all sorts of local groups advocating the equitable future we’re all reaching for.

We need to raise at least $12,000 in the next month to ensure we will be here for Hot Toddy season. I want Cocktail Mary to continue to be a beacon of the life we want back, where we are all together again. You can be part of that with a donation in any amount comfortable for you. Just as important though, please also help us amplify this campaign by sharing it with your network. Tell your friends, your parents, your exes, and your enemies because at the end of the day community is all that we have.
