I'm a family friend trying to help raise money for everything from trips to Tampa General burn unit 2 x a week , to medical supplies and bills that are adding up.  I will be personally giving it to the family for these expenses. We will be planning further benefits and will keep this post updated Update : Austin is working on getting stronger everyday with physical therapy on the hand and foot and is determined to come back stronger than ever. Austin wants to thank everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers from all over the world. Austin is still dealing with Severe nerve damage, nightmares, and muscle spasms. I will keep this page updated as we know more from further body scans and test. God bless    July 22,  Austin Dunn was Struck by lightning. He was working ground crew for an airline. He was working an extra shift for extra money for a vacation. He was going to go Whitewater rafting the next weekend in Colorado.   He was rushed by ambulance to Tampa General Hospital Burn Unit ICU.  He could not feel from his neck down, and had 3rd degree burns and second throughout parts of his body. Upon arrival he had a bleeding on the brain that we will continue to monitor. He had levels that normally shut the kidneys and heart and renal down. These are all things we will have to continue to watch. He has been release, and now can focus on his burns and injuries. We were not sure if he would lose his right hand, the exit wound.  We are now being told he will keep his hand with having extensive physical therapy. He is continuing to mend each day.  He is following up with the burn clinic for possible skin grafting, and nerve damage. Along with numerous doctor visits. Austin is at the beginning of a long recovery. He tells us when he was laying there after being struck, that he couldn't feel anything from the neck down and struggled to stay awake. He said he was kept awake by his "Poppy" Mike Dunn until help arrived. His Poppy passed away 10 months ago from Cancer. We want to thank the thousands of texts, emails and messages sent from friends, family and strangers, even people actually on that flight. So many prayer chains, and even the GoFundMe  set up for him.  Without your prayers we are not sure he would be here. Please continue to pray for his recovery.  Doctors tell us he is nothing short of a "Miracle," we believe that "Miracle" was all of your prayers!   My family want everyone reading this to tell your children and family each day how much you love them. It was my first thought when I got the call, I hope he knows how much we love him. At this time Austin is not ready to talk. He wants you to know he is so touched by the kindness of each and every one of you. On behalf of Austin and our family thank you!
