Shaving It Off for Brain Cancer

My name is Wendy Nadeau.  I read a story in my local newspaper about a beautiful young woman, wife and mother named Melissa Gobbett who had been battling brain cancer for three years.  Most recently in February her doctors gave her six months to live.   I'm saddened to report today, that she succumbed to the disease just last night. 

Melissa started a campaign last year to raise money for brain cancer research called Heroes Shave It Off.  The campaign is running for the second year now, and although I am no hero and unfortunately did not even have the privilege  of meeting this beautiful soul,  was moved by her story enough to decide I would like to raise money on her behalf and shave my head to do it. 

Having lost my own mother fairly recently I feel deeply for Melissa's  two children who, at such a young and tender age, have been robbed of their mother by this hideous disease.

So to carry on Melissa's legacy I will be having my head shaved on June 18, 2016 at the Downtown Vernon Sunshine Festival and will need a lot of support to meet my fund raising goal of $5000.
