48 Miles For Sky (Aireworth Dogs In Need)
Since November 2020, we have been fostering a dog named Sky (to be honest she has been fostering us!). She's the most attentive, intelligent and kind dog I've ever had the pleasure of meeting - she LOVES food and can sleep days! She loves attention and even gives you a cheeky growl if you don't give her attention when she wants it!
Unfortunately, Sky hasn't been so lucky in life. She was handed to Aireworth Dogs in Need - an absolutely fantastic charity whose main aim is to keep dogs out of kennels and eventually providing them with their forever home!
Sky was handed to ADIN significantly underweight and has some signs of mistreatment thus, we quickly saw her and took her in as a foster.
Sky has a ruptured her cruciate ligament (a vital ligament in the knee which provides stability to the joint), which needs surgery as this will cause further issues in the future if she doesn't seek the correct medical attention. Sky is only 3 years and 10 months old, and is developing secondary arthritis therefore its best that this surgery is completed soon as possible.
Due to Skys current situation being in foster, the charity relies on the fundraising to pay for the vets fees. The total cost for the operation is around £2500 due to her size- they also have another dog having the same operation at a similar time and the cost for both is £4500 so any contribution is hugely appreciated! As you aware all aware COVID has impacted a significant number of things, but for this charity their fundraising abilities has taken a huge hit and their funds are down significantly.
I'm doing my part in raising funds for Sky/Aireworth Dogs In Need's cause by running 48 miles in 48 hours.
The run is a challenge created by an ex Navy SEAL named David Goggins.
The run is 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours.
I will be tracking each run on STRAVA (5-7th March) so people can keep up with the progress.
