Save City College of San Francisco Coalition is a coalition of students, classified staff, faculty and members of the San Francisco community. We stand for justice and equity in the educational system.
Our Mission is to retain City College of San Francisco as a college that offers affordable and quality education that is open and accessible and addresses the needs of the diverse community in San Francisco.
We are fighting against the assault on public education. We are fighting against the downsizing and privatizing of a resource that serves the most vulnerable communities.

WHERE IS THIS MONEY GOING TO GO?
Currently our fight includes 3 campaigns.
Delegation to Washington D.C.
We want the Department of Education to revoke the authority of our rogue accreditation agency, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. (ACCJC) A delegation of 12 will travel to Washington D.C. to testify at the Department of Education hearing for ACCJC's 5-year renewal of recognition in December. We need to raise money for airfare and hotels: ~$3000
Legal Strategy
We are also pursuing a legal avenue to fight this assault on public education. We have a wonderful lawyer who is working to complement and strengthen already existing lawsuits. He is working for us pro bono and has just asked that we defray his costs. The flat fee he is asking is below what he will need to pay out: $15,000
Defend the PAC!
The third is to defend the Performing Arts Center, an important resource not just for CCSF but the San Francisco community who voted for it and which was already started ($20M worth of geothermal wells) and fully funded when the Special Trustee nixed it. more information
