This superb cultural event will host over 200 children from the DC metropolitan area and will be held at the Panorama Room, 1600 Morris Rd. SE, Washington, DC, on December 29, 2017. The first children’s party was held 48 years ago and is a staple in the community. Every year, families look forward to celebrating the principles of Kwanzaa and renewing their commitment to community building. This FREE event will feature a host of entertaining and engaging educational activities for the children including cultural arts & crafts, African dance and drumming classes, storytelling, face painting, Karamu feast, candle lighting ceremony, and performances featuring the Farafina Kan Youth Ensemble, Ka’ba SoulSinger, and Iya and the Kuumba Kids. Every child in attendance will receive a Kwanzaa gift bag full of goodies, activity booklet, and a t-shirt.
There are several levels to this giving opportunity. Your donation will help us to provide the children with educational and cultural books & gifts, cultural arts activities and performances, an organic meal, and commemorative program and activity booklet.
