Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

Many of you are familiar with one of my dearest and oldest friends Mitali Caruso and her husband John Caruso, devoted parents to 5 children, ages ranging from 21 to 8, including 8-year-old twins (John has 2 kids from a previous marriage). In April 2022, their lives took an unexpected turn when John was diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Mitali, who was a stay-at-home mother, began seeking work to support her family, putting their well-being above her own. Despite enduring the challenges of the first line of chemo and facing the pancreatic tumor with ablation radiation in December 2022, John's journey took a turn in January 2023 with the discovery of a new liver lesion, confirming metastatic spread by mid-year 2022. Undeterred, John bravely joined a clinical trial in July 2023, which included immunotherapy and chemotherapy, showcasing his unwavering determination. Recent challenges emerged with new liver metastases detected in January of this year, indicating ongoing battles. The latest CT scan on 1/16/24 showed disease progression. Now, we find ourselves at a crossroads, exploring complementary treatments costing upwards of $150,000. Doctors are also considering potential adjustments to the current plan. Your support is crucial at this juncture. John's resilience has inspired us all, and your contribution can make a meaningful impact on his journey. Every donation will help cover medical expenses, potential complementary treatments, and alleviate the financial strain on the Caruso family. While Mitali has intentions to sell their family home, she currently wants to focus on John's recovery and maintain stability for their family. Thank you for being a part of John's support network.
