Our Forever & Always Beats Cancer
Donation protected
My Forever and Always, Jerry, has Metastasized Colon Cancer. It started as Stage 3 Colon Cancer first diagnosed in 2012 when he was 37 years old. It retuned in 2015, in his abdomen and left lung. It returned again in 2016, in his right lung, and now it is in both lungs. We have exhausted all of the traditional chemotherapy routes and at this time, surgery is not recommended. Jerry and I are now seeking treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Jerry will be entering a Phase 1 Clinical Trial, which is where drug trails start at the human testing level; the beginning level of trials that hopefully one day lead to FDA approved drugs. This means that not only will Jerry have to travel weekly to start, it also means that our insurance may choose not to cover costs associated with experimental treatments. Our Faith is our foundation, it keeps us from drowning in what can seem at times an insurmountable situation. Our Belief in a purpose that is greater than we can understand right now, gives us Hope to keep pushing forward. We have been blessed from the start, by the generosity of others that have come along side us. Jerry and I are always asked what we need, most times we don't know! But right now, with knowing that there will be a great deal of travel between Kansas and Texas as well as Indiana, when Jerry's parents can come and help; there will be financial costs that come up. Please know that this is not easy for Jerry and I to ask, in the event that we do not need all of the donations, we will pass any remaining funds to a family living with cancer like us or make a donation to the American Cancer Society. All our appreciation, gratitude and love- Jerry & Mia
