House of Pacific Relations International Cottages in San Diego
• Is a consortium of ‘houses’ representing 34 countries which promotes multicultural goodwill and understanding through educational and cultural programs
• Has historic 1935 Exposition 15 cottages plus 5 added cottages in Balboa Park
New International Cottage Initiative
• New plan by 9 Houses to build additional 9 cottages
• House of Korea (new member of NIC) needs $500,000 to build HoK cottage
• As of August of 2018, HoK has raised about $385,000 during last 2.5 years
• Ground breaking ceremony was in Nov. 19 of 2016 and construction initiation is expected around fall of 2018
