Pet oxygen masks for fire departments
Donation protected
My fiancé and I are on a mission to donate pet oxygen mask kits to every fire department in the Greater Puget Sound area.
I had never heard of a pet oxygen mask until my fiancé, Daniel, who's a volunteer firefighter, did a ride-along with a fire department that had pet oxygen masks. After doing some research, I found out that fire departments don't usually carry pet oxygen masks unless someone donates them to their department. It was then that I decided I wanted to donate them to every department in the Greater Puget Sound area that didn't already have enough kits for all of their engines and aid cars.
Each pet oxygen mask kit costs $80, and 100% of the money raised will go towards purchasing the kits to donate to the fire departments.
What is a pet oxygen mask? Pet oxygen masks are oxygen masks specifically designed to fit the muzzles and snouts of dogs, cats, and other household pets. Each kit contains 3 pet oxygen masks (small, medium, and large) as well as oxygen tubing.
These masks will better aid first responders in helping dogs and cats that have suffered smoke inhalation, as well as pets that need to be resuscitated after losing consciousness.
Below is a current list of the departments that still need pet oxygen mask kits in Pierce, King, Snohomish, and Kitsap county. I am still reaching out to departments so this list will grow as I hear from additional departments:
- Riverside Fire & Rescue (needs 3)
- Pierce County Fire District 13 (needs 3)
- Buckley Fire (needs 2)
- Snohomish County Fire District 15 (needs 2)
- Mukilteo Fire (needs 4)
- Snohomish County Fire District 19 (needs 3)
- North County Regional Fire (needs 12)
- Pierce County Fire District 27 (needs 4)
- Mercer Island Fire (needs 5)
- Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue (needs 28)
- South Kitsap Fire & Rescue
- Renton Regional Fire Authority (needs 7)
- Northshore Fire (needs 5)
- Woodinville Fire & Rescue (needs 8)
- Orting Valley Fire (needs 2)
- Graham Fire & Rescue (needs 6)
- Everett Fire (needs 4)
- Bellevue Fire (needs 1)
- King County Fire District 40 (needs 2)
Thank you for helping support this mission!
