Helping a Friend in Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jamie and I am hoping to help a close friend to many of us in the recovery community. Due to her involvement in 12 step meetings and to protect her children she would like to remain anonymous. I have personally seen this amazing and strong woman overcome so much. She has over 4 years of complete sobriety from all alcohol and drugs and actively participates and facilitates meetings in the recovery community. Even with the small income she receives from disability she is always one of the first people to give back by offering rides, finding resources for those in need and always willing to lend a listening ear. Her own personal struggles have not slowed her down, including working through mental and physical health issues as well. All of this on top of being a single mom who has worked tirelessly to have a stable and safe environment for her children and healthy and loving relationships with them, which is seen in every interaction with them.
Recently she has run into issues with her vehicle. Right now she doesn’t have a vehicle to drive and her choice is to possibly repair the vehicle she has or buy a new one. Either option will be expensive and impossible to pay with her limited income. She needs a vehicle to transport her kids and take care of their basic needs. She needs a vehicle to continue making it to her recovery meetings and helping others who are in need.
I understand fully money is tight for many of us, especially during the holiday season. But if you can help in any way, it is greatly appreciated.
