Women's Campaign School at Yale

Dreams can come true. I was accepted to the Women's Campaign School at Yale for the 2019 summer session.  Can you believe it?!?!

Campaign work is my passion and I will be a successful campaign manager.  It's the culmination  of my varied personal and professional experiences. I've been training to be a campaign manager for 30 years and didn't realize it until 2017.

I started as a political activist in high school and then being voted "Most Likely to be a Feminist Activist" in my high school year book due to my passionate conversations in class.

Soon after I enlisted in the US Air Force and developed an understanding of geopolitics and to be a woman in a male dominated career field. I studied political science in college while  working multiple jobs in several industries across the country.

At the time I couldn't explain why I wanted to work in sales, recruiting, and technological career fields. Why did I keep talking, talking, talking to everyone, everywhere?  It didn't make sense on paper, but now it's crystal clear.  No matter how hard I tried to run from politics, I was preparing myself for this opportunity.

I needed to convince myself that this was the the next step in this journey so I've worked on multiple political campaigns the past few years while working with my favorite women's rights organization, CT-NOW, and supporting several other political, issue-focued organizations. I'm certain. I'm ready. Let's do this.

The training is an intensive week-long program in New Haven and costs $1,800 plus lodging. Asking for money for other people and causes is easy. Asking for yourself is frightening, but necessary.

Thank you for all of the love, support, kindness, brownies, and late night texts while I've been on this journey. Thank you for your financial support in helping me get to the next level. I want to do good work for us so that we have our seats at the table to achieve equality. Being a successful campaign manager is the best use of my talents and skills towards that goal.
