Hello All, My Name is Shawn Bosley and I am the founder of the community service project entitled "Feed The Streets"located here in Denver, Colorado. I am reaching out to you today to not only tell you a little about my self but to raise awareness across all communitys to a project that can help combat the epidemic that his homelessness in our country. My hope is to see this project continue to flourish and grow each and everyday as it has since its beginning but we need your help! But before that let me tell you more about myself. From a young age, I learned to deal with adversity through first hand experiences. I grew up with an adopted family in St. Louis, Missouri. My family, like many across the nation, suffered financial difficulties that often left us uncertain of our future. At one point or another, my family was forced from our home because of those difficulties. I quickly learned the perspective of a person facing the problem of homelessness. By the age of thirteen, my philanthropic efforts began. That year for my birthday, I decided to donate all of my presents to the local Foster Care program. Growing up, I had continually witnessed the poverty affecting my community, and once decided to move from Missouri to Denver, Colorado, I witnessed poverty afflicting my new community on grander scale. Within the first six months of living in Denver, I decided to invest my time in an organization known as the CU Denver Community Council (CUDCC), and with the help of my University and on campus Greek community, I started the “Feed the Streets” Initiative. This project is designed for the sole purpose of serving the homeless population in Denver by providing folks with sack lunches filled with sandwiches, chips, water bottles, and positive affirmations. Since the introduction of the project in early January, Myself and my band of colleagues have fed over 2,800 people and handed out over 1,500 water bottles. We often receive funding from the University to fund our outreach, but when these funds cannot cover the costs, the organization relies on monetary and food donations from their community. In fact, we have had much community involvement such as the help of the Buckley Air Force Base or the continued involvement of the Greek community. Since the start, Feed The Streets have been able to partner with Planned Parenthood, The Donut House Colorado, as well as received public community support from Colorado Black Women For Political Action, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., and the Buckley Air Force. With this organization, I seek to feed the homeless community of not just Denver, my ultimate goal for this organization is a nationwide non-profit that continues to ensure meals for the suffering homeless communities. I have dedicated myself to seeing this goal through and hope to spread this message and expand these efforts. The goal is to raise funds not only for supplies and resources for the next upcoming "Feed The Streets" initiative but to build enough capital to begin the process of becoming a Non-Profit. I began this Gofundme in hopes to connect my mission with those who are also interested in helping. If you or anyone you know would like to support the cause please don't be afraid to donate or reach out to me! Any and all support matters! Thank you and may God Bless you!
