2023 STRIKE FUND FOR HBH WORKERS!

2023 STRIKE FUND FOR HBH WORKERS!

Howard Brown Health Workers United (HBHWU), representing dedicated healthcare
and retail professionals, Howard Brown Health (HBH), have voted 96% in favor of taking
their second strike in under a year due to persistent illegal unfair labor practices by the
employer and their failure to settle a fair contract.

The wall-to-wall unionized staff of Howard Brown Health have been patient and resilient
throughout the near year-long negotiation process despite union busting and illegal
changes to working conditions. HBHWU is dedicated to achieving a fair contract that
recognizes the essential work of its members.

Executive leadership of HBH says they are concerned with sustainability. We say, you
cannot have a sustainable organization if you have employees who can’t pay their rent
because they are paid so poorly. We say, you cannot have a sustainable organization if
the South Side is consistently under-resourced. We say, you cannot have a sustainable
organization if working conditions are subject to constant changes and workers have no
say in those changes.

We want to settle a fair contract - but if executive leadership continues to refuse
and break the law, then we will strike. We will make it clear that they gain more by
working with us than against us.
Donate to this fund to support these courageous workers as they fight for their first
contract!
