Lucas Strong

Hello everyone. We are the Christiansen family; Jon, Molly, Nathan, and Lucas.

Earlier this year, just shortly after relocating from Illinois to Arizona, our youngest son, Lucas, became very ill.

After numerous tests emergency room visits, and hospitalization, doctors could not give us a diagnosis, so we sought out alternative medicines (holistic care, chiropractors, and naturopathy).

Later Lucas’s chiropractic doctors ordered an MRI which showed that he had multiple lesions on his brain.

Additional scans showed that Lucas also had tumors down his spine. His surgeons were able to remove the most life-threatening tumor, diagnosed as medulloblastoma, the most common type of cancerous brain tumor in children. Lucas will require both radiation and chemotherapy for many months.

Through his decline, Lucas made his high school’s varsity golf team as a freshman. Unfortunately, he was unable to continue playing due to his condition.

Lucas’s attitude towards his diagnosis and recovery is remarkable. He’s determined to return to his healthy self, intending to play collegiate golf while studying business and sports.

As you might imagine, this devasting trauma has hit our family extremely hard. Our focus is on Lucas’s recovery. God brought us to Arizona to have the best medical team to heal our son. The support Lucas has received from his friends, school, community, and church back in Illinois has been unimaginable.
