Compassionate Action to Help Ukrainian Refugees
Tax deductible
Over 3.5 million Ukrainian refugees have left their country to seek safety from death and destruction. Most of them are women and children who have had to say goodbye to husbands, fathers, brothers, grandfathers and uncles, not knowing if they will ever see them again.
I will be traveling to the Polish border on Friday, March 25, to volunteer my services to Ukrainian refugees in whatever capacity is needed. I plan to join a US-based charity organization called Type of Wood Charities. Volunteers with this group are transporting refugees by vans and cars from the border to locations throughout Poland. They also provide suitcases to those traveling with all their possessions in plastic bags.
Go to the Type of Wood website at https://www.typeofwood.org/ for more information about their activities in Poland. Click on the YouTube video link on the page to view what the volunteers are doing at the border. You can also click on the Facebook link for more photos and information (don't worry, you don't need a Facebook account to view it).
I have initiated this fundraising campaign to raise money for Type of Wood's efforts to help Ukrainian refugees. 100% of your donations will go directly to support the refugees. You can donate on their website or through this GoFundMe campaign. I would prefer you do so through GoFundMe as I can keep track of how much money I was able to raise, but that is your decision.
The organization is working in the border town of Medyka, Poland. The funds will be used to pay for the rental of vans and their operating costs and the provision of suitcases, supplies and food.
Thanks very much for your compassion and kindness toward those in extreme need!
