Help support the Palmer Family

Update February 3, 2024

First and foremost, we express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown incredible generosity over the past week. From the contributions on GoFundMe to the thoughtful cards and heartfelt calls—your support in every form has left us truly overwhelmed.
Second, we wish to provide everyone with an update on the developments of the past week. Following a thorough third opinion from Dr. Peter Anderson at the Cleveland Clinic, a trusted and knowledgeable medical professional whom Alex is comfortable with, she decided to move forward with his care plan and his approach. This is a space that he is a renowned expert in (as in people across the US come to CLE to be in his care) and wants to let her be able to do “all of the things” as we like to say and yet be as aggressive as possible.
After running through several tests on Friday, February 2, which included a PET Scan, EKG, echocardiogram, and other necessary pre-testing, she is set to get her port February 5th, with chemo beginning February 7th.
The Palmers anticipate that out-of-pocket expenses for treatments will persist, along with increasing costs for regular travel to Cleveland, essential supplies such as food and comfort medications, as well as the purchase of wigs for Alex, among other needs.
We remain deeply grateful for the unwavering support and generosity extended by communities and friends. The Palmers are open to and appreciative of ongoing assistance and support throughout Alex’s and the entire family's journey. Your outreach has been a true blessing, and we want you to understand the profound impact it has had on The Palmer Family.

It’s the words as a parent you never want to hear, “Your child has cancer”. What was thought to be a muscle issue in Alex’s foot turned into discovering that Alex has a very rare and aggressive form of cancer, Ewing Sarcoma. Treatment will start the first week of February and will be very aggressive. It will require Alex to move to remote learning and will require extensive stays in the hospital.
So many of you have reached out to ask what you can do to help - we all feel lost and don’t know where to begin. We’ve set up this GoFundMe to be able to financially support Jim and Regina during this time of need. Medical bills will be extreme and the goal is to be able to alleviate some of the burden of that stress. Anything is appreciated and we will keep this up and running throughout Alex’s journey. Please keep Alex, Evan, Regina and Jim in your prayers.
Thank you in advance and thank you for your support!
