Support for the Smith Family

Let's get the ball rolling quickly with supporting the Smith family financially as Graham begins treatment for Stage-4 Cancer. Graham has recently been in transition with employment, picking up some relief work in Schools (meaning there are no existing employment entitlements/leave etc). This money will practically be going towards general living expenses, unexpected bills and Graham's medical treatment.

As such, we would like to now be able to raise enough money so that the family doesn't have to worry about work during this time. The goal is open-ended, as it is unknown how long Graham's treatment process will be.

As Romans 12 says, because we belong to one another as members of Christ's Body, God calls us to "Contribute to the needs of the Saints" and that "if one suffers, then we all suffer together". This is our joy and honour to bless this family with our love, care and provision.

A beautiful demonstration of this has been close family friends of the Smiths who flew from Sydney to Adelaide for a prayer meeting. But not only did they come, and pray - but their 10yo daughter Josie carried with her a jar containing coins and notes she had carefully been saving up over several years. Josie upon hearing of her Uncle Graham's diagnosis had immediately wanted to give him her jar of savings. Not some, but all of it. She gave freely, generously and out of a heart of love for Graham, Irina, Elijah and Daniella. What a precious gift it was to the family - not because of how much, but because of the love that stirred in Josie to give it, and the love it expressed to the Smith family as they were able to receive it. So if you see mention of Josie's Jar - that was the jar of love that started this all!

Please continue to lift up Graham, Irina and the kids in prayer, for healing, provision, peace and comfort, and that their faith would be built up and strengthened in the Lord.
