Team Ryker

Ryker is the 3 year old son of Caitlin and Cody Berens. He has the biggest heart of any little boy you will ever meet. Ryker has a rare form of Epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. When Ryker was 8 months old he suffered from his first seizure. Ryker has had multiple seizures since then, his most recent and worst seizure was on August 4th, 2023 when he did not respond to his rescue medications at home or any IV medications at the hospital. Ryker was intubated and put on a ventilator and flown from Stafford County Hospital to Wesley Children's Hospital in Wichita. His family and friends are hopeful that a fresh set of eyes from a new care team and neurologist is just what Ryker needed. He was started on new medications and is now home resting. As his close friends and family, our goal is to raise money for a seizure alert dog for Ryker. Service dogs are very expensive, but they can alert up to an hour before a seizure starts. Please continue to keep Ryker and his family in your prayers that these new medications work and for Ryker to continue to live his life fully as a wild and crazy little boy.
