Christine Bellport - Fundraiser COMPLETED Thanks!

This is Christine Bellport. I have met my goal and I will be *ending* this fundraiser. Thank you Bonnie Carlson, Jen Knuckles, and Jennifer Buda for setting up this account. GoFundMe saved my life because it helped me SURVIVE after I lost everything in Hurricane Ian. These donations kept food on my table, put gas in my car, helped with Mike's vet bills, and got me into a rental condo. I can start over now. THANK YOU. Please see my last update for more details.

My name is Bonnie Carlson; I set up this fundraiser to help Christine Bellport, a childhood friend who grew up on the same street in Lafayette, California. Christine moved to Ft. Meyers Beach, Florida, last year with her two dogs and a newly adopted cat. On Wednesday, September 28th, Christine lost her house and everything in it when category 4 Hurricane Ian tore through Ft. Meyers, bringing a 16-foot storm surge and devastating destruction with it. She was hoping to get a job offer, as a matter of fact, this week with a non-profit on Sanibel Island. Plans tragically changed.

Christine evacuated in advance of the storm and is safe, but only has 4 days of clothes, pet food, and insulin for her diabetic dog left to her name. Despite this unimaginable tragedy, Christine's sense of humor is still intact, along with her infectious smile and deep gratitude. Christine appreciates the outpouring of encouraging messages from family and friends across the country; cell service and power are intermittent, and everything has slowed to a stop, but Christine will respond when she can.

It is Christine's nature to think of others first and help others before herself...but today, Christine needs our help! If you are a fellow Acalanes High School "Don," a fellow USC Trojan, or one of Christine's loyal fans who have followed her broadcasting career from DC, San Diego, Tucson, Savannah, and the great state of Wisconsin...now is the time we can give back to her for making us smile. Your donations will go directly to Christine so she can secure housing and purchase necessary supplies (for example food, pet food, pet medication, insurance, clothes, toiletries, cell phone, and utilities) to sustain her and her beloved pets through this transition period as she rebuilds her home and life.
