Paying tribute to Valerie

Thank you for your interest in financially supporting the family of Valerie Duenes Castillo as they face this difficult time ahead. Valerie passed away on October 14, 2023 at the young age of 47 as a result of cardiac complications associated with a rare autoimmune condition. Valerie was recently married to the love of her life, Joseph “Jojo” Castillo. Valerie had three beautiful and vivacious daughters— Jaslyn (24), Isabelle (17), and Carly (10). Valerie worked for many years as a medical assistant for Dr. Roberto Ramirez in Kenedy where she impacted so many patients lives with her persistent smile and positive outlook on life. Valerie loved Jesus, loved her family, and loved her friends with her whole heart. Not only was she a wife and mother, but an amazing grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Unfortunately, as times are more economically challenging for most everyone, Valerie did not have health insurance—for she always put the needs of others before herself. As Jojo & her daughters are left with the loss of Valerie and her untimely and tragic passing, we ask you to graciously consider donating whatever you feel led to give.
