Support Winston's Urgent Medical Treatment

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read this. While I do have two beautiful cats already, also rescues from a kill-list, my partner James and I were considering growing our family, since actual kids are not happening. I fell in love with Beau (now Winston!) when I saw him on my friend Emilie’s FB page. She does cat rescue in Puerto Rico and gets volunteers to bring them here to the U.S.

We have had him for about a week and he was just settling in and making great progress getting to know our other cats, Marshmallow and Pepper. Everything was fine… till yesterday. I noticed that he was sleeping… a lot… I woke him up to eat and he just curled back up. I thought maybe he was just exhausted but then he wouldn't eat. He felt warm to the touch. I syringe-fed him water and food. I took him to BondVet this morning and his temp was 107 degrees which is near fatal for cats. They immediately told me to bring him to the hospital for treatment.

I wasn’t expecting this and frankly I can’t afford it but I have to do something because I love him. I had to pull from monies that were slated for bills and rent and I maxed out a credit card. This leaves me no wiggle room for if he needs more immediate care.

Cats have a way of getting under your skin and wrapping their paws around your heart almost immediately. I appreciate any support. He may need further hospitalization and I will cross that road when I have to. Till then, I hope the care he’s getting today will heal him and I can take him home and give him some love.

Bills for fluids, meds, visit, ear clean. Additional bill for blood borne disease panel to see if we have to get our other cats taken in as well for something infectious.
