Friday 9th September 2022 in the morning my son came downstairs crying of a very bad headache only a few moments later he was sick. I was at work my mum was with him, she informed me of his situation so I left work to come see if I needed to take him to be checked over. I got home within 5 minutes went upstairs to check on him and he was unconscious and hardly breathing. I called 999 and preformed cpr till the ambulance came and took over. He was put into a medical indused coma and after what felt like eternity, He was air lifted to King's college hospital. Here he was taken to have a scan to try and work out what was going on. They found a massive blood clot on the brain. They diagnosed AVM and it had ruptured. They put a drain into his head to stop the fluid buildup and was going to try and sort the AVM but decided to see what damage the clot had done first due to risks. He has recovered so much more then they had thought but obviously it's still early days and we still don't fully know what damage there has been. He has now been booked in to have brain surgery in about 2 weeks to try and fix the AVM and to stop this happening again.
AVM is a defect they can get from development in the womb and there is no way of knowing he had it.
I'm setting this up just to help cover expenses of travelling to and from King's hospital. Parking and possibly food.
It cost £24 a day to park and over 5 hours of round driving getting back and forth we also have other children at home that we are still trying to keep in school
It's expected to be an extremely long recovery
Thank you for anything ❤️
